Pleasant Valley Recreation and Park District (PVRPD) has allotted $1.4M for the project and we have a general idea that the total cost to build 16 or 19 courts depending on parking will be approx. between $2.1M – $2.4M. Our intention, as a non-profit, is to help raise $800K - $1M over the next year to get the park built in its entirety
Because of the lack of funds, there is a phasing plan set up by PVRPD. It will take years to complete all phases with the current budget and the way pickleball is growing in Camarillo we need as many courts as possible built during the initial construction. Imagine having Semi-Pro and Pro tourneys at this new park and the infusion of commerce in Camarillo!
We will be exhausting every avenue possible in order to complete our goal such as;
For fundraising questions contact our VP of Community Out Reach, Robert Alimena
Fundraising with tournaments: The annual Cam Slam Tournament held in July is the largest fundraising event Camarillo Pickleball Association (CPA) organizes. Last year the net proceeds of over $3,500 were used to replace nets, purchase court equipment and cover operational expenses. Sponsor donations go directly to the Freedom Park Fundraising (FPF) account. View our 2022 Sponsors.
Fundraising while competing: The monthly round robins and smaller events raise between $500-$900 for the Freedom Park Project. Net proceeds vary depending on the number of players and format of the event. Approximately 44% of the entry fees are used for the event costs (renting courts, balls, refreshments), 6% remains in the CPA general fund and approximately 50% is donated to the FPF account.
Fundraising with donations: Thank you to all who have made a donation via our direct donation portal. Current and future players will benefit from your generosity. Camarillo Pickleball Association is a non-profit and all donations are tax deductible.
Fundraising with businesses: CPA is working with PVRPD to develop a sponsorship package so businesses will get maximum recognition for their donations.
